Monday, April 28th, 2008

By Lambert Klein This article will review the health benefits of losing weight and how to reach these goals. Weight loss isn’t easy to achieve but with a little determination and quality information you can make it happen. Many of you will start off the New Year with excitement about reaching your ultimate goals. Keep that excitement and let’s begin! Weight loss is not something that can be done quickly in most cases. It’s more of a lifestyle change that you desire. If you really want to change then do it. Some points you want to consider for your new healthier weight loss program will be gaining the knowledge to succeed. Another matter is your overall health. If you are healthier your weight will be also. Learn about portion sizes and negative calories. One thing you will need to acquire for your weight loss results is information. Information about weight loss may require some intelligent research on your part. There are many things that are just plain common sense and are where your will power will have to kick in. Drinking cokes and sweet drinks all day won’t benefit your weight loss program. You may have to learn what junk food actually is with your research, and then cut these out of your diet as much as possible. Exercise works even better than cutting calories so make sure that you incorporate some form of exercise into your everyday routine. Calories do count though so make sure that you do count them if you want to see greater weight loss results. Portions are another key point to consider. You must realize that you have been forced by the media and fast food restaurants to consume unnatural portion sizes. “Super size it” is a phrase that you will realize is harmful to your health. “Just say no” is your new positive motto. Eat your larger meals earlier in the day and don’t skip breakfast. Eat a lighter dinner. You may have greater results by eating six smaller meals throughout the day instead of the traditional three. A healthier you is a slimmer you! Take a healthy approach to life if you want to reap the benefits of weight loss. Your body can’t function correctly and eliminate body waste efficiently if it’s not in shape. When you are healthy you will be confident and feel better about yourself and others. You will make smarter choices that you can cherish in the years ahead. Think about it as investing in yourself. Aren’t you the most important person to invest in? Others around you will benefit from your improvements as well. Some nutritious foods are known as “Negative Calories Foods”. What are these “magical” foods? Tomatoes actually burn more calories when you eat them then they contain. Other foods that may fit into this category are: Apples Grapefruit Oranges Lettuce Onion Spinach Broccoli Celery and more This means that you are consuming fewer calories than you are burning by your effort to chew and consume them. You burn more energy digesting them than they actually contain. Most negative calorie foods contain plenty of vitamins, minerals and enzymes to break down these foods for better digestion. Remember weight loss is not easy and effortless. You will have to put work into it just as you do with other important things in your life. You just have to decide precisely what is important to you and if it is worth your precious time. I hope that you will decide on the most important thing in your life, you! Florida Personal Injury Liability Insurance

Friday, April 25th, 2008

By Eric Morris The law related to personal injury generally deals with injuries to a person that require medical attention. The injury can be caused by anything. Typical causes of injury that give rise to claims for are: car accidents, work related injuries, railroad accidents, animal attacks, boating accidents, defective products, plane crashes, slip and falls, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, professional malpractice, negligence of others and death caused by another. Sometimes insurance disputes arise out of one of these injuries; other times disputes with insurance companies arises because the insurance company simply does not want to pay the covered expense. In these instances, the insurance company generally makes up an excuse to avoid the claim. Various Florida based personal injury law firms assist clients in recovering money for those injuries caused by others. At the same time, these firms maximize a client’s rights under any applicable insurance policy. The personal injury lawyers and attorneys goal is to aggressively obtain a client’s maximum available recovery from all sources. Although many lawyers handle personal injury and insurance disputes, many treat them as routine. These personal injury lawyers prosecute these cases with the same aggressive fervor used in complex securities and commercial disputes. This ensures that WPL obtains the maximum recovery for the client. Personal Injury Protection or PIP coverage is mandatory in Florida. PIP generally pays for medical and other expenses related to an auto accident regardless of who is at fault. PIP requires that drivers select who is covered under their Florida policy and the deductible amount. In the event of an accident, coverage is provided to the policyholder, policyholders relatives in the same household, passengers, and other authorized drivers, where applicable. Ten Classis Kids Party Games With a Twist

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

By Patricia B. Jensen The most exciting part of a kids party is the party games, and why not start with the classics? We’ve all played musical chairs, pin-the-tail, and limbo. But have you played them like this? Learn how to give each classic child party game idea its own unique twist to fit your party theme. BEAN BAG TOSS/FEED THE MONSTER Draw a monster face on a piece of poster board or heavy cardboard and cut a hole in the box where the his mouth would be, large enough for the bean bags to be thrown through easily. Lean the monster face against a chair and place it 6-8 feet away (depending upon the abilities of the guests). Everyone takes a turn tossing three items of “food” (use beanbags, cloth balls, rolled socks, or other small objects such as squeak toys for dogs) into the character’s mouth. After each child’s turn, retrieve the “food” and hand it to the next child. Every time a child successfully “feeds” the monster, he gets a small prize such as a sticker or wrapped candy. Twist: Use a character which relates to your party theme instead of a monster: T-Rex for Dinosaur party; Clown for a Circus party; Gorilla for a Jungle Party DUCK DUCK GOOSE Gather your guests to sit in a circle and let the party child begin as the “Goose.” He/she walks around the circle tapping each child lightly on the head, saying “Duck” with each tap. At any time, the party child can choose the next person to be the Goose, by saying “Goose” when tapping that person on the head. That child gets up and chases the birthday child around the circle. If the new Goose does not tag the birthday child before he/she makes it all the way around the circle and sits in the open spot, then the new Goose becomes “it.” If the new Goose tags the birthday child, then the birthday child remains “it” for the next round and the game continues. Twist: Buzz, Buzz, Sting for a Bug Party; Tick, Tick, Tock for a Pirate Party GUESS HOW MANY? Before the party, fill a jar with candy or small toys. Count them before you put them into the jar. As your guests arrive, have each one guess how many toys or candies they think are in the jar. Write down each person’s guess. At the end of the party, the person who guesses the closest number is the winner and gets to take home the jar. Twist: Small plastic insects for a Bug Party, black and orange jellybeans for a Halloween party; small plastic dinosaurs for a Dinosaur Party HOT POTATO Played like the classic Hot Potato game. Children sit in a circle and pass an item around while an adult leader plays music. The child holding the item when the music stops is out. Last player left not holding the item is the winner. Twist: Pass a big hairy toy spider for a Halloween party; rubber snake for a Western Party; teddy bear for a Teddy Bear Party Another Twist: Cold Potato - Kids throw a water balloon back and forth across the circle. The player holding it when it breaks is out. Last player left dry is the winner. LIMBO Two adults hold a pole, mop or broomstick at child’s height. Start the music (Caribbean is best). Children must walk under the pole without touching it. After each round, the adults lower the pole an inch or two. When the pole gets very low, children may bend backward and shimmy under, or even crawl. If a player touches the pole, he is out. Twist: Pirate Limbo - adults hold a play sword; Halloween Limbo - adults hold a witch’s broom; Fairy Party - adults hold a magic wand Another Twist: Water Limbo - Have an adult point a stream of water for kids to limbo under. Great for a pool party! MEMORY Place about 10 to 15 small items or toys such as a pencil, watch, comb, spoon, toy car, etc. on a tray and cover with a cloth. Have guests sit in a circle with the tray in the middle. Remove the cloth for 60 seconds while guests try to remember as many of the objects as possible. When time is up, replace the cloth. Now, each person has to name an object on the tray. The first person to fail to name an object, repeats an object or names something not on the tray is out. The tray is then removed and some or all of the objects replaced, and the game re-started with the person following the one who is out. If the game is too easy for the group, add more objects or reduce the time. Twist: Use whatever objects relate to your party theme: construction trucks for a Construction Party; make-up items for a Dress-Up Party MUSICAL CHAIRS Set up one fewer chair than the number of guests at your party. Start the music and have the children walk in a circle around the chairs, until you stop the music. When the music stops everyone tries to sit on a vacant chair. (Only one person per chair) The person who doesn’t find a chair is out. One chair is taken away and the game continues until only one person (The Winner) is left. This game can also be played with pillows or cardboard pictures placed on the floor for kids to jump on. Twist: Musical Anthills for a Bug Party; Musical Islands for a Pirate Party; Musical Webs for a Spider Man Party PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY When it’s time to play the game, mount your poster on the wall and place a piece of tape on the back of each object the children will be pinning on the poster. Blindfold each child, spin them around, and point them toward the poster. The child who pins their object closest to the designated spot, is the winner! Twist: Pin the nose on the clown; Pin the Tooth on the T-Rex; Pin the Spider on the web for a Bug Party; Pin the X on the treasure map for a Pirate Party SIMON SAYS Children stand in a group in front of the leader. The leader says, “Simon says, ‘Do this,’” as she taps her head, claps her hands, turns around, etc. The children must follow the leader’s actions, but only if she begins with “Simon says…” If the leader just says “Do this,” the children must do nothing. If a child makes a mistake, he is out. The last child “in” is the winner. Twist: Change “Simon Says” to a character relating to your party’s theme: “Blackbeard Says” for a Pirate Party; “Spider Man Says” for a Spider Man Party; “Cinderella Says” for a Princess Party. SPIN THE BOTTLE (for opening gifts) Direct guests to sit in a circle holding the gift they brought. The birthday child spins a soda bottle and opens the gift of the party guest at whom the bottle is pointing when it stops. If it stops at a person that has already given a gift just go left until you find someone that hasn’t had the gift they brought opened. A calm and quiet way to open gifts without all the pushing and shoving. Twist: Spin the Spyglass for a Pirate Party; Spin the Ruler for a Construction Party; Spin the Barbie for a Barbie or Princess Party Copyright 2005 Kids Party Paradise All Rights Reserved About The Author Patricia B. Trans-parent - Now We Can See You

Monday, April 21st, 2008

By John Fairchild Where have you been hiding? I have never heard of you and now you are a media hog. How long have you been hiding in my food? How much damage have you done over all these years that I have been trying so heard to live a healthy lifestyle? Now that you have been brought out from the shadows I am going to be aware of all the places you may hide from me and I won’t let you affect my health anymore. Trans fatty acids (trans fats) were once seen as a healthy alternative to the high amount of saturated fats butter consisted of. You can finally thank the government for stepping up and providing some good solid information in helping us in the ever ending food label confusion. If you haven’t heard about the new labeling laws the government set forth, you haven’t been paying attention to the products you are buying. Starting in January 2006, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a final rule requiring all food manufacturers’ to list trans fatty acids on the products food label. This is the first major change on the label since 1993. The FDA has confirmed a relationship between the intake of trans fats and an increased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). According to 2003 statistics from the American Heart Association (AHA), CHD is the single leading cause of death in America, which accounts for 479,305 deaths. Many other health organizations have reports stating that consumption of trans fats contribute to increased LDL (bad) cholesterol. What are trans fats and where do they come from? Trans fats are formed when vegetable oils are hardened to form margarine or shortening, called hydrogenation. Many manufacturers use trans fats to reduce costs, improve the shelf life of certain products and improve taste and texture, a great selling tool. This is why you can’t have just one, which was a great advertising tool from a major company years ago. Partial hydrogenation creates a semi solid material raising a products melting point, which is extremely useful for baking. Trans fats are man made or processed fats that are developed when hydrogen is added to the oil and then pressurized in the presence of a metal catalyst, hence the term hydrogenation. This process changes the chemical structure of a fat and some atoms end up on different sides of the fatty acid chain. Trans in Latin means “across”. In a fatty acid, the hydrogen atoms are on the same side of the acid chain. Hydrogenation re-configures these bonds. The body metabolizes trans fats differently in the liver than it does for natural fatty acids, therefore causing some health risks. Partially Hydrogenated vs. Hydrogenated If a product is fully hydrogenated it would be too solid for most uses. To keep margarines and shortenings softer and easier to use, partial hydrogenation is used. This is when the unhealthy trans fats are formed. Fully hydrogenated oils do not contain trans fats. New products from Crisco are coming to the market that can blend several oils together and then fully hydrogenate them without creating a trans fat. Crisco uses several unsaturated oils (soy and sunflower) blended with cottonseed oil to produce a soft texture product. How do I locate trans fats on the food label? Trans fats will be listed under the total fat section on the food label. It is recommended to keep trans fats and saturated fats to minimal levels. There is no Daily Value percentage (%DV) for trans fats. Saturated fats %DV should be below 20%DV with healthier recommendations of 5%DV or lower. You will come across products that will have 0 grams trans fats but will have partially hydrogenated oils in the ingredient list. The FDA final rule allows companies to not list trans fats if the product contains 0.5 grams or less per serving size. Check the serving size and how many servings are in the package to find out the total amount in the whole carton, bag, or can. If a product has 0.5 grams per serving and the container has 6 servings, you could consume three grams of trans fats if you eat the whole container. This would be a high intake of trans fats in anybody’s diet. “Shortening” listed on the food label will also indicate some trans fats are present in the food. Illustration 1(Food Label- Highlight Total Fat, Saturated Fat and Trans Fat) Trans fats are also found in nature. Foods of animal origin include: butter, milk products, beef and cheese. These foods also provide vital minerals and nutrients and should not be totally eliminated from the diet in order to avoid their trans fats. Trans fats will be found in foods such as crackers, cookies, candies, fries foods, baked goods, bagged snack foods, and most processed foods that have partially hydrogenated vegetable oil in the ingredient list. It is estimated that the average adult intake of trans fats in the United States is approximately five to six grams per day. Experts agree that saturated fats can be beneficial for the human body when consumed in moderation. They do not say the same about trans fats. It is recommended to keep trans fats out of your intake as much as possible. Make wiser choices. Choose vegetable oils (except coconut and palm), tub or spray margarines (these contain a lower combined amount of saturated and trans fats), low fat dairy products, leaner cuts of meats, fresh fish, whole grains, and of course colorful fruits and vegetables. Limit your intake of egg yolks, bagged snacks, pastries, fried food and most fast food. Product Serving size Trans fats g Butter 1 tbsp. 0.3 Margarine stick 1 tbsp. 2.8 Margarine-soft tub 1 tbsp. 0.6 French fries Medium 8.0 Doughnut 1 5.0 Candy Bar 1 3.0 Pound Cake 1 slice 4.5 Fried onion appetizer plate 1 18.0 Some major food manufacturers have already taken some necessary steps to cut down or eliminate trans fats in some of their products. Now that we see and understand the trans fat story, can we embark in the journey of leading a healthier life? It’s our choice. Eschatology - Is the Present World Headed For Destruction?

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

By William Bell, Jr. Do You Live In Fear of the Imminent End of the World? Relax. You’ll be just fine. Here’s a message of hope. For too long the world has lived and labored under the destructive mindset that everything is going to hell in a hen basket. As usually is the case the loudest voices lack substantive proof. Consider a different end-time perspective, not because it may be new to you, but simply because it has validity based upon evidence. The Critical Problem of Time Where did the idea of the imminent destruction of the universe originate in the first place? On May 22, 2000, in USA Today, Irvin Baxter prophesies a war for the near future in which two billion people will die. Men obsess with predicting the end of the world. People have been predicting the end of the world since the close of the first century? The irony is, when the “end of the world” was imminent, men obsessed with its continuation (2 Peter 3:4). Now that the predicted end occurred many modern day prophets yet proclaim the imminent end of the world and all life on the planet. The Promise to Never Destroy the Earth After bringing a flood upon the earth to destroy all living things because of man’s evil, Genesis 6:5, God promises that He would never again curse the ground or destroy every living thing as he had done. His promise is, ‘While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8:21, 22). Someone may respond that this begs the question of how long does the earth remain? The answer is forever. Solomon said, one generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the earth abides forever. (Ecclesiastes 1:4). David recorded that God made a decree stating the sun, moon, stars and the heavens were established forever and would not pass away. (Psalms 148:4-6) The Predicted End of the World What is commonly known as the prediction of the end of the world is often misunderstood and more often misapplied. Jesus is asked by disciples after hearing about the destruction of the temple, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age.” (Matthew 24:3) Some translations will supply “world” instead of age. This is not an accurate rendering. The word “age” from aeon is correct. It means an epoch or period of time. Their question is not about a future destruction of the globe. They wanted to know when the “age” i.e. Old Covenant age would come to an end. It was that end that was predicted, not an end of the material creation. The language of “de-creation” is often used in the prophets to describe the fall of nations. See for example, Isaiah 13:10-13, where the language describes in apocalyptic terms, the end of ancient Babylon. Check other references in Isaiah 34:3-5, referring to Edom. Apocalyptic Language Too often, apocalyptic or figurative language is interpreted literally causing great confusion and misunderstandings. It forces unnatural renderings of plain texts. When we consider the time element that is used in the texts, we cannot place interpretations on the passages which violate the time in which the event is scheduled to occur. That is a huge key in understanding Bible prophecy. It virtually eliminates the end-time madness being inflicted upon society today. Yes, the heavens and earth are said to be destroyed, but such language is governed by and within time limiting statements which set the parameters of fulfillment to be the age in which Jesus lived. “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. The Language of the Apostles The above is why the apostles saw themselves living in the terminal generation. They never expected life on the planet to end. They were well-versed in Old Testament imagery and they knew such terminology referred to the end of the Old Covenant era.Paul, for example, declares that the end of the age had come in their day. “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” (1 Corinthians 10:11). It serves no value to claim Paul was mistaken, that Jesus lied or that all the first century writers were misinformed. They knew well the meaning of their words. They did live in the end of the age/world. The confusion begins when we misunderstand their language and misapply it by placing 21st century applications on first century events. Until we are more wise in handling the end-time language of the Bible, we are forever doomed to a hopeless future of confusion, self-fulfilling prophecies of destruction and war, and to a society paralyzed with fear and its consequences. Jesus Died in the End of the Age The phrase “end of the age” occurs five times in the New Testament. (Matthew 13:39, 40; 24:3; 28:20, and Hebrews 9:26) Each time it occurs, the Mosaic or Jewish age is meant. In the Hebrews passage, the text says Jesus died in the “end of the age.” Did the material world end with Jesus’ death? Was it about to end? We can all look back almost 2000 years ago and see that that was not the case. However, there was an age which hurried toward destruction. The day, near on the horizon soon approached. (Hebrews 10:25) The event being concurrent with Christ’s return would happen in a little while. (Hebrews 10:37) These are the time statements that limit the end-time events to the first century. That is why the writers of the Bible said, “The world is passing away.” (1 Corinthians 7:31; 1 John 2:15-17) In addition, the antichrists were right there signaling that the last hour had come in their day, (1 John 2:18).When speaking of the present world under the new covenant, it is a world which lasts forever and has no end. (Luke 1:32, 32; Ephesians 3:21; Hebrews 12:28) In summary, the problems with end of the world predictions lie in their failure to encompass the emphatic time statements that saturate end-time teachings. These statements placed the end-time events in the first century. That includes what is called the end of the world. With no outlook for doom on the horizon, we can expect nothing but a very bright future. The world will continue on. Life on the plant continues endlessly. Contrary to the escapism mandated by doom and gloom prophets, let’s get busy making it a better place instead of sabotaging ourselves and others with “chicken little” philosophy. Lawsuit Loans - Caveat Emptor!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Wayne_Walker]Wayne Walker If you have been injured in an accident it is quite likely that you have been financially stressed as a result, and are in need of an advance against your insurance claim, lawsuit or other legal action. If you are looking for someone to lend you money based on your future settlement, BEWARE! There are reputable sources available but, unfortunately, there are many more disreputable ones as well. In this article we will explain what to look for in a funding company and how to avoid being burned. First of all lawsuit loans are not really loans they are non-recourse investments and are not subject to usury laws. To avoid the usury limits, which would render the product economically infeasible, the typical lawsuit loan or lawsuit funding transaction is done in the form of an investment rather than a loan. This means that the funding company only gets paid if the lawsuit or claim is successfully resolved. If you lose your case you own them nothing! Generally speaking, this non-recourse element renders the transaction an investment (not a loan) under the law[1]. In the past, there were no sources of help available to personal injury victims due to a strange confluence of circumstances. 1. Bar Association rules of ethics prohibit your attorney from lending you money for anything but case expenses, experts, tests, travel to the doctor etc. This rule exists for your benefit. The Bar is rightly concerned that if your lawyer lent you money against your future settlement, a conflict of interest might arise, and you could be pressed into accepting a settlement that was less than you otherwise would accept. Also, attorneys are not banks and they simply cant afford to operate their law practice and be a lending institution as well. 2. Banks and traditional lending institutions do not have the skills to evaluate personal injury lawsuits and thus, will not lend money to someone whose primary asset is their lawsuit.About seven years ago, this void in the financial system started to be filled by a number of entrepreneurial companies some good, some bad. It was a rather strange group consisting largely of lawyers, wall streeters, and well-heeled business people. They used their own capital to fund cases and a new industry was born. In these early years fees were very high and contracts very severe. While rates generally ranged from 3% to 6% per month, it was not uncommon to see contracts with rates of 15% per month, compounded! Contracts were also very Byzantine. However, rates have steadily come down and contracts, while not exactly consumer friendly yet, have become less severe. In short, the business was maturing into a responsible part of the specialty finance industry. However, over the past two years or so, American Cash Flow Corporation[2], a marketing company with a rather checkered history, targeted the industry for promotion. Since then, the lawsuit funding industry has resembled a Wild West gold rush attracting an unbelievable number of get-rich-quick rip-off artists, amateur lending brokers with no experience and just plain folks who paid their $5,995 ($2,495 for the tape course) to become a cash flow broker and are trying to make their fortune. Virtually all of these cash flow brokers are just that brokers. They do not invest their own money to fund lawsuit advances. However, they all do have websites that trumpet their expertise without revealing that they have none and are not acting as principal. If you are not careful dealing with them can make your situation worse much worse. Tips for shopping for a lawsuit funding: Deal with a company that is investing for its own portfolio. Otherwise, you could wind up paying a great deal more than necessary. Do not deal with brokers - someone has to pay the brokers fee and that someone is you! Would there be so many brokers if their commissions were not high? Deal only with certified websites. When applying online, deal with a website that has the seal of Trust-e or one of the other recognized non-profit website privacy confirmation organizations. Your personal information may be used improperly. Do not supply information that is not otherwise discoverable. Certain information is privileged (between you and your attorney) but that privilege is lost once it is shared with a third party. An inexperienced funding company may require information about your case that, once in their possession, will lose its attorney-client privilege and may be subpoenaed by the defendant. Experienced companies like CapTran www.captran.com never ask for this type of information. Look for the best rate. Some companies like CapTran offer best rate guarantee. If CapTran approves a case and makes an offer, they will match or beat any legitimate competitors written offer or pay you $200. (You only get the $200 if they fund the case or you turn their offer down for some other reason.) Do not make multiple applications with different funding companies. First of all, you have no way of knowing if that company is going to try to sell your deal to one of the others to which you have applied (which will not sit very well with the real funding source). Multiple applications create a nuisance for your attorney since he or she will have to complete many requests for information. Your best bet is to make an informed choice and work with that company. Check with your attorney. Never sign a complicated contract such as a lawsuit funding agreement without first consulting with your attorney. Questions to ask a funding company: 1. How long have you been in business? The lawsuit funding industry is very young and has a great number of brokers and inexperienced companies with no real money. A sure tip-off is if the company advertises a mind-boggling array of financial products and services including note purchasing, account receivable financing, structured settlements, purchasing of lottery winnings etc. They simply want to shop your funding application until they find someone with money to fund it. Meanwhile, nothing is really happening with your application. If a company advertises that they work with a network of investors it simply means that they have no real funds of their own and therefore, cannot make a funding decision themselves. 2. How many cases have you funded (approximately)? CapTran for example, has handled over 10,000 funding requests and invested in several thousand of them. 3. Do you use your own money or are you a broker for others? Be wary of companies that are members of the American Cash Flow Association as they almost certainly have no experience. Also be wary if a human never answer the telephone, as that is surely an indication of the level of service you are likely to get. 4. Who owns your company? 5. What is their business experience? 6. Do you have lawyers and paralegals on staff? 7. What the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) you charge? (If you are quoted a monthly rates see the next question.) You will probably be told that it depends on your case, which is true, but they can tell you what they charge for a typical case. If they tell you there are no typical cases hang up and go the next company on your list. You should expect to pay simple interest rates as low as 2% per month for a case where strict liability standards apply; 4% to 6% for a typical auto case, and; 6% or higher for medical malpractice. ANY rate higher than 7% per month can be bettered with a little shopping. 8. Are your monthly fees compounded? Many companies advertise deceptively low rates but load up the contract with many charges and monthly compounded rates. The most common practice is to charge an application fee and/or a closing fee that is sometimes 10% or more of the amount you are advanced. If you contract for $10,000 you might be charged an application fee of $500 AND another fee equal to 10% or $1,000 a total of $1,500 in fees. Now, here is the best part you will have to pay interest on $11,500 interest on the $1,500 you didnt even get! In this example, if you were charged a 4.00% compounded monthly rate the true annual cost is not 48% but 75%! In this scenario it would be cheaper to take a 6% simple interest rate from someone else. DO NOT AGREE TO PAY COMPOUNDED RATES! Almost every client we deal with thinks that their case will settle in a short while, but personal injury cases can drag on and on for many reasons and those compound fees can eat up all of your settlement if your case takes much longer than you anticipate. 9. Do you charge any fees or discounts of any kind? This is very important as some firms charge a low monthly rate but add on application fees, discounts and other hidden charges that will dramatically raise the cost. 10. Will you send a sample contract to my attorney?Any reputable company will do this. 11. Can you give me an attorney with whom you have done business for a reference? Any reputable company will do this also. 12. Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau? www.bbbonline.com CapTran is a member of the BBB online and subject to mandatory dispute resolution. 13. If not, do you have a mandatory dispute resolution policy? What is your rescission policy? CapTrans policy allows for rescission for up to 5 business days after funding. If you follow these tips and ask these questions, your chances of finding the right funding company and the best deal for you are excellent. Armed with a little preparation and the age old admonition, caveat emptor let the buyer beware, you can successfully obtain a pre-settlement advance that allows you to stay the course and get a much better case settlement. Footnotes [1] This is a complicated topic but, generally speaking, if repayment of any part of the principal or interest is contingent on an event that is more than a mere colorable hazard, the transaction is not considered a loan and not subject to usury laws. [2] American Cash Flow Association ( ACFA ), also known as the American Cash Flow Institute ( ACFI ), American Cash Flow Corporation ( ACFA ), National Mortgage Investor’s Institute ( NMII ), Diversified Cash Flow Institute ( DCFI ), among many other names were all founded by Orlando lawyer Laurence J. Pino , who reprimanded by the Florida Bar Association for misusing an investors funds. On June 20, 2003 the State of Tennessee issued a Cease and Desist Order in which the State charged that American Cash Flow Corporation together with 12 related businesses and 12 named individuals operated an illegal securities scheme that promised to make investors through the business of brokering cash flow transactions. Pino was cited by the Attorney General of Tennessee in 1996 for a similar scheme under the name of Diversified Cash Flow Institute . At that time DCFI paid fees and costs to the state of $10,284 for violating the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977. Noted Columnist Jane Bryant Quinn also wrote disparagingly about Pino and his operations in The Washington Post 0n June 18, 1998 “Note Brokering: Harder Than it Sounds” “Pino, 46, a lawyer in Orlando, Fla., describes himself as an “exceptional business trainer.” His seminar experience goes back to 1983 - not always in the best of company. He first lectured for huckster Charles J. Givens Jr., who ran some dubious financial-planning organizations. In 1993 and again in 1996, juries decided that Givens had committed fraud. Later, Pino taught for Dave Del Dotto, an earlier popularizer of “cash flow,” who settled an FTC action in 1996 with a $200,000 fine. (Del Dotto went bankrupt; the FTC says he never paid). Pino himself was reprimanded by the Florida Bar Association in 1988 for misusing an investor’s funds.” And in Newsweek reporter: Show Me The Money” “Larry Pino’s pricey cash-flow workshops plug an easy way to get rich quick. It’s a real business, all right — but there isn’t much easy or quick about it.” Wayne C WalkerPresident of Capital Transaction Group Inc www.captran.com”CapTran” a leader in Litigation Financial Services Wayne Walker is President of Capital Transaction Group Inc, a leader in Litigation Financial Services. http://www.captran.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Wayne_Walker [http://ezinearticles.com/?Lawsuit-Loans---Caveat-Emptor!&id=49925 ]http://EzineArticles.com/?Lawsuit-Loans—Caveat-Emptor!&id=49925 phentermine with out prescription phentermine on line pharmacy online consultation for phentermine best place to buy phentermine

The Worst Hair Styles For 2006

Monday, April 14th, 2008

By Lance Winslow Everyone talks about the best hairstyles of 2005 and what will be trendy in 2006, yet what they really want to know is which hair styles not to be caught dead with. If we all wear the same style of hair, then we end up looking too trendy and a copycat. Most of us are aware of this and therefore do not necessarily go for the Paris Hilton Hair Cut or the Brad Pitt theme. What we need is a hybrid of sorts, something that will not offend, but will be classy and somewhat unique to help bring out our finer points, individuality and strengths in our personalities. Some of what may have been considered the most obnoxious and obscene haircuts of the past will be very trendy in 2006. Haircuts like the shock jock Howard Sterns, with is light socket hairdo and matted look. The Japanese video cartoon character hairdos you would have never thought of wearing, yet in 2006 we will gals wearing this hair style with pride. The hair styles which will end your date quickest for men, will be the parted in the middle flared and layered styles which were popular previously, so much for that online dating service hook-up, Next! For women do not be surprised if men would rather see no hair on your entire body than the 2004 and 2005 Oprah haircut, as she will never be able to run for President with that do. For those women with patrician looks you actually can get away with extremely short hair in 2006 or even bald and you will be a trend setter, as bald is in 2006 for men and women. Think on this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Psychotherapy: Rent A Friend

Friday, April 11th, 2008

By Dawn Brown At some point we are going to understand that it is all right to get help when we need it. A friend called me a few months ago to chat. I knew what that meant. She would talk and try to put me in the role of her therapist. She had been depressed for sometime and had ignored all my hints that she might need to see a therapist. Now her depression had obviously increased and I told her that I cared about her but as her friend, I could not be her therapist. I really felt she needed to speak to someone professionally. She responded with shock and indignation, telling me she would never speak to a therapist as she was not crazy. Several days later another friend called me and was feeling depressed. Again I refused to be her therapist but offered to give her the name of one whom I had found quite helpful. A few weeks later I called her and she sounded very upbeat. She quickly told me she couldnt speak as she was rushing out meet with Renafren. Puzzled I commented that her friends name was most unusual. She then spelt it out for me: Rent a Friend. Her nickname for the therapist I had recommended to her was Rent a Friend. She explained that she paid him for his time and he gave her unconditional acceptance and support; he was her friend. We had a great laugh at her concept of therapy! I was reminded of the words of Shakespeares Hamlet: There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so. Our perceptions create our experiences. To one person, receiving the benefits of psychotherapy meant she was insane; to another person the benefits provided her with the unconditional acceptance of a friend. One persons perceptions created roadblocks to her healing; the other persons perceptions cleared the way for her to accept assistance. What we choose to perceive makes all the difference. A Rose Gardening Book Can Help You Choose The Right Rose Bushes For Your Garden

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

By Tim Gorman It doesn’t matter whether you’re just starting out with your rose garden, or whether you’ve been growing roses for years. There will be a rose gardening book that’s just perfect for your needs. A rose gardening book can help you choose the right rose bushes for your garden, and give you ideas on how to care for them effectively. In return, your garden will flourish and produce magnificent roses year after year. So what exactly can you learn from a rose gardening book. As a beginner, that question is much easier to answer. Preparing your garden properly before planting roses can make a huge difference to how well they thrive. There’s also a lot of important ongoing maintenance that you need to do, to keep your rose garden in top condition. If you’re looking for a “set and forget” type of garden, then don’t bother planting roses. You need to regularly monitor and maintain your roses, otherwise you’ll find they quickly become unhealthy and fail to bloom well. Although roses will probably survive and do all right without any attention, they will reward you a great deal more if you spend some time on them. Even if you’re more experienced with gardening in general, or roses in particular, you can gain a great deal from rose gardening books. New rose breeds are always being developed, and you can keep up to date with what’s available in the new guides that are released. Also, caring for roses is a constantly changing field, with new techniques and ideas being developed and tested. Sometimes a book may contain just one new idea you’ve never heard before, but that one tip may make a big difference to the success of your rose garden. We can all do with a greener thumb! Those who could be considered master rose gardeners can still find helpful information in rose gardening books. Any good expert knows that when you stop learning, you start to go backwards. Learning from other experts in the field is a great way to continually expand and enhance your own knowledge. Rose gardening books are also a great way to choose the breed of rose you think would look perfect in your garden, or may even give you some clever ideas for designing your rose garden. Books are a fabulous way to find more information about rose gardening, and there’s always something new that you can take away and apply in your own garden. Skin Care - How To Take Care Of The Skin You’re In

Monday, April 7th, 2008

By Delia Galley Take care of your skin now and youll reap the rewards later. Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman have flawless skin. Legendary beauty, Sophia Loren gives meaning to the phrase aging with grace. Of course these beauties have an advantage that most Americans do not have large amounts of money. Many of us cannot afford to spend large amounts of money for beauty products. Some celebrities are known to spend up to $500 on small jars of fountain of youth type elixirs. So what can the average American do in their quest for healthy looking skin? Stick to two basic practices: Pick the Best Skin Care Products For You The biggest factor in achieving healthy skin is to utilize products that your skin loves. In order to do this, you need to understand your skin type. Do you have dry skin and therefore need dry skin care products or do you have oily skin? Knowing your skin type will narrow you playing field. There are many, many products on the shelves at your local drug store or in your higher-end department stores. Youve probably heard terms such as Alpha-hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta-hydroxy Acid (Salicylic Acid), Retinol, etc. Cosmetic manufacturers use these propaganda-like words to sell their products. Do these terms really mean anything? How do they help your skin? The simply fact is that you dont need to be a scientist to find the best products. Let common sense be your guide. Do you know someone, who has used the products before? Did they find it helpful? These are questions that you should ask when selecting products. After suffering from acne and oily skin as a teenager and now dry skin I have tried every acne skin care product, oily skin care product and dry skin care product on the shelf. I have also tried several natural/organic skin care products. Some work and some dont. Over the years, I have developed my list of the best of the best skin care products including acne skin care products, dry/oily skin care products, natural skin care products and anti-aging skin care products. Make Your Beautification Ritual, Routine Once you find the best skin care products, develop a skin care treatment/beautification routine. If your routine is in the morning or evening, then give yourself about 15 to 30 minutes to engage yourself without interruption. Take pictures of your starting point so that you can track your progress each week. Consult with your local day spa esthetician for more skin care ideas. Beauty is only skin deep but a beautiful heart and mind, deserve beautiful skin. Find the list of day spas in your local community.
